CEVICT
Pre-order · ships December 1, 2026

Send your self-hosted Ghost newsletters through your own Amazon SES

Self-hosted Ghost's built-in newsletter sending is built around Mailgun's API. SES Bridge for Ghost is a hosted, Mailgun-compatible endpoint: you point Ghost's bulk-email settings at it, and your newsletters go out through your Amazon SES account at SES prices, billed to you by AWS (on 2026-09-30 AWS listed $0.10 per 1,000 emails à la carte, or $0.16 on the Essentials plan that new SES accounts start on).

Pre-order for $5 (one-time)

$5 covers your first 30 days of use, counted from the day we send you setup access. You won't be charged again unless you choose to subscribe. Full refund if it hasn't shipped by December 1, 2026.

This is a pre-order. The product is not built yet. We're checking that enough Ghost publishers want this before we build it. If fewer than 3 people pre-order by October 30, 2026, we cancel the project and refund every pre-order in full. If we go ahead, it ships by December 1, 2026, or you get a full refund.

Who it's for

People who run self-hosted Ghost (on their own server, or with a host that lets them edit Ghost's mail settings), who already have or can get an AWS account with Amazon SES production access, and who would rather pay SES rates than Mailgun plans for newsletter sending.

It is not for Ghost(Pro) sites: Ghost(Pro) handles newsletter email for you and doesn't let you change the email provider.

Exactly what you get when it ships

Included
  • A private, Mailgun-compatible API endpoint for one Ghost site. You enter it in Ghost's bulk-email (Mailgun) settings: base URL, API key and sending domain.
  • Newsletter sending: Ghost's batched newsletter sends, with per-recipient personalisation, delivered through your SES account.
  • Events back to Ghost: delivered, opened, failed (bounced) and complained events, so Ghost's newsletter analytics and member email status keep working.
  • Suppressions: SES bounces and complaints flow back to Ghost, and Ghost's suppression removals are honoured.
  • A step-by-step setup guide: creating a tightly scoped AWS IAM user for SES only, the SES configuration set for event publishing, and the Ghost settings.
  • Email support at support@cevict.ai.
Not included
  • Email providers other than Amazon SES.
  • Your AWS account, SES domain verification or SES production access. You need these yourself; AWS bills you directly for sending.
  • Ghost's transactional email (sign-in links, staff emails). Ghost already supports SES for these through its standard SMTP settings.
  • Ghost(Pro) sites, or hosts that don't let you change Ghost's configuration.
  • Importing your old Mailgun history, deliverability guarantees, or list cleaning.
  • Sending to anyone other than opted-in subscribers of your own Ghost site (see acceptable use).
PricePre-order: $5 one-time, which covers your first 30 days of use, counted from the day we send you setup access. After that, the planned price is $9 per month for one Ghost site. We'll email you when it ships; a subscription only starts if you choose to start it. Nothing recurring is charged by this pre-order.
Ship dateBy December 1, 2026. If it hasn't shipped by then, you get a full refund.

How it will work

  1. Verify your sending domain in SES and get production access (AWS's own process).
  2. Create an IAM user limited to sending through SES, and give the bridge its keys. Keys are stored encrypted, used only to send your newsletters, and deleted when you cancel. You can revoke them in AWS at any time.
  3. Paste the bridge's base URL, API key and domain into Ghost's Mailgun settings.
  4. Send a newsletter. Ghost thinks it's talking to Mailgun; the email goes out through SES, and the events come back to Ghost.

Free alternatives, honestly

If you're comfortable running another service yourself, there are open-source Mailgun-to-SES proxies for Ghost on GitHub that you can self-host for free. SES Bridge for Ghost is for people who'd rather not host, patch and monitor one more service.

FAQ

Why pre-order instead of just signing up? We only build things people will pay for. Three paid pre-orders by October 30, 2026 means we build it; fewer means we stop and refund everyone.

Can I get my $5 back before it ships? Yes, any time. Email support@cevict.ai.

What do you collect now? Only what Stripe collects to take the payment (your email, name, and card details, which Stripe processes and we never see). We don't ask for AWS keys or subscriber data until the product exists and you choose to connect it.

Who runs this? CEVICT, a small venture studio. The product is built and operated with AI on behalf of CEVICT, with a human owner overseeing it. Questions go to support@cevict.ai.
